Lately I have been very busy with various new projects and one of them is the HNT or Helium cryptocurrency exchange or mining.
I knew about this cryptocurrency for quite some time beforehand, and I also knew that it could be exchanged with Helium hotspots. I wanted to order my own Hotspot when I heard about it, but after researching the available devices and asking people in the know for feedback, I realised that I would have to wait at least 4-6 months for a new mainer, so I gave it up.
New Panther X2 Helium Mainers are now available to order from HeliumHotShop.eu! They will be sent out at the end of February! It usually takes ~3 months to get a mainer, so this is a great opportunity to get your money machine. I’m already waiting for my Panther X2 to arrive!
At the time I heard about this cryptocurrency, the price was ~$12 per coin, but about a month ago HNT reached $55 – a nearly fivefold increase in just half a year. Of course, again, it’s a bit of a shame that I didn’t buy the main in time or buy and hold the cryptocurrency in my wallet. It happens all the time!
Helium is probably one of the most sensible cryptocurrency projects of all time because it has physical things underneath – hotspots that form a LoRaWAN network, which in turn is useful for the Internet of Things (IoT). This network is already used by many large companies to enable secure and fast data transfer between devices.
There are now more than 500 000 Helium Hotspots around the world, forming this network and competing with each other to transmit as much data as possible and get rewarded with the HNT cryptocurrency.
The person who has placed their Hotspot in the best location and configured their device correctly will earn the most HNTs. The best spots are the ones that are high (like towers), have nothing in front of them, have lots of other hotspots around, but none of them are closer than 300 metres. Today, there are nearly 20 manufacturers of inverters that can be connected to the Helium network. In addition, it is important to choose the right antenna for your location and a cable that will not lose signal.
Mainers or hotspots are both indoor and outdoor. The best results will be achieved if the antenna is located outdoors, as the glass will block the radio waves.
The most popular mainers at the moment are RAK V2 miner, Sensecap M1, Nebra miner, Bobcat miner, Linxdot miner, MNTD. miner. But if you search for any of these on the internet, you’ll find that there’s nowhere to buy them locally. You will have to wait in a long queue for at least two months to get your device and start exchanging Helium cryptocurrency. All of these cost between $400 and $600, depending on the configuration.
Mainers also have a secondary market, where all appliances are sold for up to twice as much. If you buy a new car and drive it out of the showroom, you immediately lose a quarter of its value, the opposite is true with HNT mainers – when you get your long-awaited mainer, you’ve already doubled your money.
Others are making money from this crypto project – ordering mainers for $450 a piece and then selling them for €1000. Of course, this will not be possible forever, as more and more manufacturers of mainliners are coming up, but it is foreseeable that good places to park your mainliner will soon run out, and then the demand for these devices will definitely decrease. Accordingly, the more Hotspots, the lower the rewards each will receive on average.
Below you can see a map showing all Helium Hotspots in Riga. Did you have the slightest idea that something like this was happening in Riga?
You can see a map of all Helium Mainers, their profits and other interesting information here – https://explorer.helium.com/
So, I got my Helium Hotspot main. I bought a Sensecap main for €900, complete with 5 DBI antennas and a 6m long cable. Now I have put it on my balcony, stuck the antenna in a PVC tube and attached it to the balcony railing with a McGyver. But I’ve already secured a spot on the roof of a tall building, in a great location with no other mainers nearby.
I am currently in a HEX with six other hotspot exchangers and 4 of them are within 300m of me, so I am aware that the results will not be brilliant and of course they are not. In addition, I have connected my mainer to WiFi, which even sometimes tends to hang up during ZOOM meetings.
I have already ordered my home internet kit so that I can connect it to the mainer with a cable. By installing it in the new location, I hope to reap handsome rewards and pay off the main in at least 5 months.
How much can I earn with Helium Maining in Latvia?
I consider the best location for the mainer to be the Television Tower, where the HNT mainer is also installed. At the current HNT price of around $23, this exchanger has earned $550 or 23 HNT in the last 30 days.
For non-exclusive mains, a good return is around 0.25-0.30 HNT per day, which will yield around 8-10 HNT or $200 per month.
In my opinion, if you or your friends live on higher floors, have access to some high places or, like me, just want to play with cryptocurrency exchanges, it’s still worth getting your hands on a Helium exchange.
Order a main, wait two or three months, connect it to electricity and Wi-Fi and earn passive income – simple as that. If it doesn’t work, resell your device and make a profit. The price of HNT is relatively low at the moment and it is predicted that it could reach up to $100 within a year, which makes this option even more attractive.

Of course, you can always buy HNT cryptocurrency and wait for the price to rise. I buy cryptocurrencies on Binance.
How am I doing after one month?
Here’s how I earned $114.38 in the 22 days the Mainiser was running.
Nothing at all! Considering that there are still 8 days in this chart where I did not earn anything, I am very satisfied with my mainer’s work.
Why didn’t I earn anything on some days? First I ordered a new, more powerful antenna, then I spent a day driving around Riga looking for the right adapter to connect everything together.
Then I waited another two days for Monday to arrive to install my antenna and main on the roof of the office building. Monday came, I got on the roof and set everything up nicely. After a few hours the money started falling out of the air! Quite literally, because here you pay for the transmission of radio waves.
This Helium changing thing has got me very excited! I’m familiar with all the available mainers (almost), I understand what antenna to choose, why it’s necessary to make the antenna wire as short as possible, why you shouldn’t use more than one crossover, etc.
And I can’t deny that I’ve ordered four more Mainers. Haha!
Yep, four more Mainers are on their way to me and will be on the roofs in March. I have also already ordered the antennas, wires and the correct transitions and have already received some of them. I am looking forward to installing all five machines and seeing my income from Helium quintuple.
I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to quintuple my income, as I have very good places available to install aerials (thanks to my last job).
I have also introduced some of my friends to this profit opportunity and one of them has also bought a Helium mainsailer. Together we installed it 35km from Riga on the roof of our house and now we are waiting for the HNT money to start rolling in.
Incidentally, several places have emerged where anyone can get their hands on a helium exchanger relatively quickly. HeliumHotShop.eu is a great shop where you can buy everything you need for Helium maining. Keep an eye on this page, as there are occasional mailers that may arrive even after a few days. The powerful Panther X2 mainsailers are now available!
Update #3 April
I have completed my minimum plan – to install 5 Helium Mainers on the roofs of 5 buildings in Riga. It wasn’t easy, but the job is done.
I have also met my target of earning 1 HNT per day. I have only managed to do it for one day so far, but I hope that soon it will be a daily routine.
That day I earned 1.1 HNT, which was just over $25. The average profit is currently around $17, which is around €15.
At the moment, the Helium network is very unstable and unpredictable. One day you can be doing very well, and the next relatively badly. This situation should change 19. April, when LIGHT hotspots will be introduced. All existing hotspots will have a new update, after which they will not need to store Blockchain information. This update is necessary because the rapidly growing number of hotspots makes it difficult to provide the resources to keep the network running smoothly. After this update, Hotspots will consume much less data and network performance should become stable and predictable.
When I expect this update, I will think about whether to increase my Hotspots or keep the current five.
I have put my Lora network antennas on tall industrial buildings. Here are some pictures:a
To earn extra money I have bought the necessary tools and learned how to make the coaxial cables that connect the antennas to the Helium hotspots. At first the idea was to make them just for myself, but then I noticed that there was a demand to make them for others.
